Travertine is not a marble. It is a sedimentary limestone of thermal origin: it forms by precipitation of calcium carbonate at mineral springs, not by metamorphism. That is why it keeps its characteristic open pores — marble has none. UNI 8458 and ASTM C1527 give it its own category. It is the stone of the Colosseum, and it deserves its own section.
Onyx is neither marble nor granite. It is translucent, backlightable, and belongs to a category of its own. No supplier in Panama has what we have.
