Ceppo Rosso marble

Marble · Italy

Gray and beige pebbles spread through a reddish brown matrix, not a single vein: that is Ceppo Rosso marble. It performs best in bathrooms and interior walls, where the pebble pattern takes the lead.

It is also known as Ceppo Rosso.

The Pattern of Ceppo Rosso Marble

A reddish brown matrix wraps pebbles of bluish gray and beige in various sizes. Black touches appear among them, and the pattern is one of pebbles, not veins. From afar the slab reads speckled, medium contrast; up close each pebble stands off the background by its tone. Within the slab the variation is moderate: the spread between pebbles and background changes from zone to zone. In the photo the surface is matte, without the shine of polish.

If your wall joins several pieces, pick the slabs together, looking at the photo of each one: the pebbles never repeat the same way on two slabs.

Ceppo Rosso Marble Finishes

With this pebble pattern, the finish decides how much the reddish background shines and how much the pebbles contrast against it.

  • Polished

The reddish background shines and the pebbles gain contrast against it.

  • Honed

Matte and soft to the touch: none of the slip of polish in wet areas.

  • Brushed

Fine lines with a muted shine; in wet areas it slips less than polish.

Questions About Ceppo Rosso Marble

Is Ceppo Rosso a different stone from Ceppo Rojo?

It is the same stone. Ceppo Rosso is the name it also appears under in catalogs: you can order it by either name.

What sets it apart from the other red marbles?

Rojo Alicante is an even terracotta red crossed by a few white veins running diagonally. In Rosso Collemandina, thin, straight, parallel white veins run over a dark reddish brown. This Ceppo has no veins: it spreads gray and beige pebbles across the reddish matrix.

Does Ceppo Rosso work for a kitchen countertop?

With a polished finish there is one rule: lemon juice, wine or tomato leave a dull mark, and the slab scratches more than granite. It works in kitchens with calm use, where the patina of the years does not bother you. If you prefer a stone without marks, compare first in the marble or granite guide.

What care does Ceppo Rosso marble need?

Clean with pH-neutral soap and water; pick acidic liquids up as soon as they spill. The sealer goes on according to how much the slab drinks; the water drop test shows it. Over the years the slab can take on etching marks: they are corrected by polishing again.

How does Ceppo Rosso marble reach my country?
