Rainbow onyx
Onyx · Pakistan
Orange, yellow and cream veins branch vertically over a gray-green background, with high contrast, like the slab in the Rainbow Onyx photo. It is an indoor stone: the wall, alone or with light behind it, is where it works best.

What Rainbow Onyx looks like
Medium-width orange and yellow veins branch vertically and build a dense network over this slab's gray-green background, with cream strokes between them. The orange and yellow stand out against the green: high contrast. The photo shows this slab with a high-gloss polish. The pattern changes noticeably within the slab. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

Where does Rainbow Onyx work?
- WallsIts best role: a full wall, with light behind it if you want
- BathroomsBathroom walls and vanity tops that see little use; wipe water off
- TablesIndoor accent tables, away from knocks
- KitchenNot as a daily-use countertop: acids etch it
- Interior floorsNot for floors: the stone scratches under foot traffic
- OutdoorsNot outdoors: this onyx only works under a roof

On a large wall, ask for consecutive slabs, bookmatched: the pattern then flows from one panel to the next.
Rainbow Onyx, polished or backlit
Polished sets the surface shine and honed lowers it; the real jump comes when the wall is lit from behind.
-
Polished
The photo shows it polished: an even mirror shine across the whole pattern.
-
Honed
Drops the polished mirror to an even matte, with no points of reflection.
-
Backlit
Behind the panel, with even cool light, this slab's orange and yellow network lights up.

Questions about Rainbow Onyx
Is Rainbow Sandstone the same stone as Rainbow onyx?
Yes. Rainbow Sandstone is another trade name for this same stone, just like Onice Rainbow. Order it by either name; what decides your purchase is the specific slab. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
How do you light Rainbow onyx on a wall?
The light placed behind passes through the onyx: with an even, cool source, the orange veins light up without heating the stone. Plan it before building the wall, so the light spreads evenly across the whole panel.
Does Rainbow onyx work in the kitchen?
Not as an everyday countertop: it reacts with acids just like marble, so lemon, vinegar and acidic cleaners leave marks. Where it does belong is on the front of a bar or on a decorative table.
What care does Rainbow onyx need?
Water, neutral soap and a soft cloth are all the cleaning it asks for. Dry the drops after wiping, so the water leaves no mark. An acidic or abrasive cleaner has no place in the routine: acid marks this stone.
How do I tell Rainbow onyx apart from green onyx?
In its photo, green onyx shows a translucent pale green, with beige veins on the diagonal and a cream area at the top. In yours, Rainbow brings the gray-green background covered by the network of orange and yellow veins. Both, being onyx, stay indoors and take backlighting.
