What Dover White Marble looks like
An irregular dark gray vein crosses the top of the slab in the photo horizontally, surrounded by soft beige waves. That broken stroke is the first thing you see on this slab: the rest of the pattern flows freely across the white background. The contrast between vein and background sits in the middle: the pattern reads clearly without becoming the only feature. The pattern changes moderately within the slab and every slab carries its own path: the one that goes to your home is chosen from photos.

Dover White Marble finishes
The finish changes the gloss of the white background and the feel of the surface.
-
Polished
The glossiest one: the white background reflects light and the surface turns out smooth.
-
Honed
Matte and smooth: the background loses reflection and the shower gains grip compared with wet polish.
-
Brushed
Fine stripes that break the reflection; with honed, an option for bathroom floors that get wet.
-
Antiqued
A dull sheen and a stone feel: the white stops reflecting light.

Questions about Dover White Marble
What is the difference between Dover White and Calacatta Cremo?
In their photos, both are whites with a pattern gathered into a single gesture. On Calacatta Cremo that gesture is a large light gray wave in an S curve. The Dover White slab instead carries a dark gray vein with an irregular path, soft beige waves around it and medium contrast.
Does Dover White work for a kitchen countertop?
It does, if you accept that use gives it a patina it keeps. The weak point is acids: a splash of lemon or a glass of wine leaves a dull mark on the polish that cleaning does not remove. Granite holds up better against those accidents; the marble or granite guide helps you decide.
Can I use it on the bathroom floor?
Yes, with a matte finish. The bathroom is one of its strong areas, but wet polish is slippery, so on floors that get wet choose honed or brushed. In the rest of the house it also works on floors, though the gloss fades where you walk most.
How do you care for Dover White Marble?
Three habits are enough: water with neutral soap, wiping up anything acidic right away (wine, lemon, tomato) and sealing when the water drop test calls for it. Over the years the surface takes on patina; if you want the gloss back, marble is restored with a fresh polish.
Is the photo a real slab?
Yes. The photo shows a Dover White Marble slab, not a visualization. Every slab carries its own pattern. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
