Rainforest Green marble

Marble · India

Fine yellow-green veins and a few reddish ones form a dense web over the dark green: that is how the Rainforest Green marble slab in the photo looks, a marble from India that shines in bathrooms and on walls.

What Rainforest Green Marble Looks Like

Dark green background, covered by a very dense web of fine veins that cross in several directions: almost all yellow-green, with a few reddish ones mixed in. The contrast is high; in the photo the green carries the reflection of a glossy polish. The pattern follows no direction: the two vein colors cross again and again over the same green. That crossing varies moderately within the slab itself.

Rainforest Green Marble Finishes

The photo shows a polished finish; honed, brushed and antiqued leave the shine duller.

  • Polished

The shine in the photo: the dark green reflects light and, when wet, is slippery.

  • Honed

It removes the mirror shine and leaves a matte finish; wet, the surface is less slippery than polished.

  • Brushed

A dull shine and fine ridges to the touch: a textured matte that suits indoor floors.

  • Antiqued

A very dull shine and a softened feel: the deepest matte, for interior walls.

Questions about Rainforest Green Marble

How is it different from Picasso Green marble?

Both stones build a web of veins; the difference is the color. The Rainforest Green slab in the photo has a dark green background with a very dense web of yellow-green veins and some reddish ones. Picasso Green marble leans olive green, and its reddish and white veins run diagonally.

How does it hold up on a kitchen countertop?

It works if you accept one thing: over the years the countertop takes on a patina, in other words, etching marks from use. Lemon or vinegar leave a dull mark on the shine that no cleaner removes. Sealer helps with stains; against the acid reaction there is no barrier. If you hesitate between this stone and granite, the guide Marble or Granite? lays out the differences clearly.

What care does Rainforest Green marble need?

Daily cleaning takes a damp cloth and neutral soap; acidic cleaners are out, and any lemon or wine that spills gets wiped up right away. Before sealing, a drop of water on the slab tells you how much it absorbs: if the stone darkens, it is time to seal. And if a mark has already set in, the marble is restored with a new polish.

Is the photo of a real slab of this stone?

Yes: what you see is a true Rainforest Green slab, with that dense web over the dark green. Every slab carries its own web of veins, so the one in your order will be different. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
