Camellia Green marble

Marble · Italy

A greyish green background and fine, very dense bands in green, grey and black crossing everything in a diagonal: that is Camellia Green marble. With that much contrast, this marble shines in bathrooms and interior walls.

What Camellia Green Marble looks like

Fine wavy bands cross the whole slab in a diagonal, very dense, in green, grey and black. The full palette runs from the greyish green of the background to grey and black, with white touches. The contrast is high, capped by a marked black band at the bottom of the slab: the most noticeable feature of this slab. Within one slab the pattern changes quite a bit from area to area. The photo shows the polished finish, with shine covering the whole surface.

If the floor or the shower will get wet every day, ask for honed or brushed Camellia Green: polished gets slippery when wet.

Camellia Green Marble finishes

With bands this dense, each finish changes how much shine the surface has and how it feels.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: it raises the shine and shows every band sharply; when wet, the surface is slippery.

  • Honed

It removes the reflection and leaves the surface matte and smooth: the comfortable finish for showers and floors.

  • Brushed

Fine parallel lines with a firm feel; another option where the surface gets wet.

  • Antiqued

It removes the shine entirely and softens the pattern: for those who want no shine in bathrooms or on walls.

Questions about Camellia Green Marble

How is it different from Cipollino marble?

Both work with wavy bands. Cipollino alternates dark and light green and keeps eye-shaped forms in the center of the slab; Camellia Green spreads very dense fine bands in greyish green, grey and black, with its black band at the base.

Does Camellia Green work for a kitchen countertop?

It works, on one condition: accepting that over the years the surface will develop a patina. A little lemon or wine is enough to leave a dull mark on the shine, so acidic liquids cannot sit on the stone. It also scratches sooner than granite or quartzite. If you want a countertop with no marks at all, Camellia Green is not your stone; the full comparison is in the marble or granite guide.

What care does Camellia Green marble need?

Day to day, water and neutral soap are enough to leave the surface clean. If lemon, wine or any acid spills, dry it right away. Sealing the surface is a good idea; the water drop test shows how much the slab absorbs. Sealer reduces absorption, though the stone is still not waterproof.

Is the Camellia Green photo of a real slab?

Yes: it is a real Camellia Green slab, shown in full and with a close-up detail. Every marble comes in different slabs. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
