Cristallo quartzite

Quartzite · Brazil

Almost white pearl grey, soft clouds and no marked vein in the slab in the photo: Cristallo quartzite brings that calm to countertops and bathrooms. It holds up in the kitchen and, on slabs that let light through, it allows backlit installation.

What Cristallo quartzite looks like

Very soft clouds cover a very light pearl-grey background and fade out before they become defined veins. The pattern changes little across the slab: the tone stays even, contrast is low and there is no line for the eye to follow. The bright polish in the photo shows the soft crystalline look of this slab.

Before you buy, ask for the lemon-drop test on a cut-off: if it reacts, that slab contains some calcite or dolomite.

Cristallo quartzite finishes

With a background this light and even, the finish decides how the piece shines.

  • Polished

High, even gloss: the pearl grey reflects the light, as in the slab photo.

  • Honed

Lowers the gloss to a soft matte and is less slippery: made for showers and floors that get wet.

  • Leathered

The finish you recognize by touch: soft relief and a muted sheen.

  • Backlit

On slabs that let light through, the panel lights up with a light behind it; ask to see it that way before you decide.

Questions about Cristallo quartzite

How does Cristallo differ from Cristallo Black?

In its photo, the Black lays soft dark diagonal streaking over the white and adds thin orange lines: the Cristallo slab stays in soft pearl-grey clouds, with no defined line. Compare the two slab photos and choose by the pattern: they are close relatives from the same family.

Can Cristallo quartzite take a kitchen countertop?

Yes: a knife will not mark it. Lemon, vinegar or a hot pot do far less to it than to a marble it often resembles. Cut food on a board: your knife edge will thank you.

Does Cristallo quartzite need sealer?

Every quartzite absorbs differently, and yours may absorb little or a lot: the water-drop test on a cut-off settles it. If the stone darkens under the drop, that slab asks for sealer. For daily cleaning, water and mild soap are enough.

Does Cristallo quartzite let light through?

On slabs with large crystals, yes: light passes through the stone and a panel mounted with light behind it lights up. Ask to see your slab with a lamp before approving the cut, and watch whether the light crosses it.

How does Cristallo quartzite reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
