turquoise

Semi-precious stone · China

Large pieces of luminous turquoise, separated by fine blue-gray joints, form the even mosaic in the photo. Turquoise comes in slabs for interiors: natural stone assembled by hand with resin, made for walls, tables and vanities.

It is also known as Turquoise.

What turquoise looks like

A luminous turquoise blue fills the slab in the photo: large pieces separated by fine blue-gray joints. The photo also shows sky blue, besides the blue gray of the joints. The contrast between the pieces and their joints is medium. The mosaic stays evenly spread across the slab. The whole slab is polished and shines. Light does not pass through the stone.

Turquoise panel finishes

The panel in the photo looks polished. Backlighting transforms the translucent stones in the family; turquoise is opaque and a light behind it changes nothing.

Questions about turquoise

Is the turquoise panel a single stone?

No. It is a mosaic assembled by hand: pieces of natural turquoise bonded with resin onto a base. The stone is authentic; the pattern is handwork, so your slab will come out different from this one. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

Can turquoise take a kitchen countertop?

Not for cooking on: a pot fresh off the stove damages the resin that bonds the pieces. The panel does fit a bar front; for the countertop, the kitchen page gathers more tolerant stones.

How is it different from lapis lazuli?

Both are semi-precious panels assembled by hand, but the blues are not the same. In its photo, lapis lazuli shows intense ultramarine in angular pieces with white and gold flecks. In the photo of this slab, turquoise brings large pieces with fine blue-gray joints; the mosaic also shows sky blue. The lapis lazuli slab is on its own page, in case you want to compare the two blues.

How do you clean the turquoise panel?

Water and a soft cloth are enough: that cleans the mosaic without punishing the resin. No solvents and no abrasive cleaners: the resin does not take them well. And under a hot cup or a pot fresh off the stove, set coasters, because the resin is sensitive to direct heat.

How does turquoise reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
