What Calacatta Michelangelo marble looks like
There is almost no pattern: on this slab, the grayish white shows only a few very faint gray veins. They are soft light gray marks that melt into the background, with low contrast. The pattern stays the same across the whole slab in the photo, with no busier areas than others.

Calacatta Michelangelo marble finishes
With so few veins, the finish mainly changes the shine of the background and how visible the marks of use are.
-
Polished
High shine over the grayish white; it is the finish that first shows the mark of an acid.
-
Honed
It removes reflections and leaves a soft matte; in the shower area it slips less.
-
Brushed
A light texture without gloss, useful on bathroom floors and in traffic areas where the polish wears away.

Questions about Calacatta Michelangelo
How do I tell Calacatta Michelangelo apart from Calacatta Classic?
By the amount of veining. In its photo, the Calacatta Classic spreads fine light gray veins diagonally across the whole slab. On yours, the Michelangelo leaves the grayish white background almost clean, with a few very soft gray marks.
Which other almost plain white marbles look like it?
In their photos, the Bianco Sivec and the Bianco Ghiaccio show a pure white with almost no pattern. The Opal White looks flat and even white. The Bianco Siberia is a flat grayish white in its photo, but with small dark dots scattered across it.
Can Calacatta Michelangelo take a kitchen countertop?
Yes, if you accept the patina. A little vinegar or lemon juice dulls the Michelangelo's polish at that spot. No cleaner brings it back: the mark comes out by polishing again. To see what changes with a harder stone, read Marble or granite?.
What care does a white like this ask for?
Water and neutral soap are enough to clean it. Dry acidic liquids at once. If a drop of water darkens the Michelangelo's grayish white, the sealer is no longer enough and it is time to renew it. Sealing lowers the marble's absorption; it does not make it waterproof.
Can I order Calacatta Michelangelo from my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and CE certification. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
