What Fossil Green marble looks like
Shell-silhouette fossils in light beige are scattered across this slab over a speckled olive green background. No veins cross it: the stone's pattern is those shells and fossil sections, accompanied by khaki touches in the speckling. The contrast between shells and background is low. In the photo the surface looks matte, and within the slab the shells are spread with moderate variation.

Where does Fossil Green marble work?
- BathroomsWorks everywhere in the bathroom; in the shower area, with no gloss
- WallsWalls where every fossil shows in full
- Interior floorsHome floors; wet, the shine is slippery
- TablesDining tables that accept a patina of use
- KitchenOn countertops, count on visible use marks
- OutdoorsNot recommended outdoors; if used, matte and never polished
- ScratchesLow
- StainsMedium, with sealer
- AcidsLow
If lemon, wine or tomato spills on this stone, dry it quickly. Acid leaves a dull mark on the polish that is not a stain: it is a chemical reaction.
Fossil Green Marble finishes
In the photo the stone is matte; polished brings out the green's shine, and honed, brushed and antiqued each tone it down.
-
Polished
Shine with reflections: the green looks deeper and each fossil stands out. On a wet floor it slips.
-
Honed
Matte and soft to the touch: the option for showers, floors and surfaces that get wet.
-
Brushed
Brushing leaves a soft linear relief and a sheen halfway between matte and polished.
-
Antiqued
A worn texture and softened edges that give the fossil pattern an aged feel.

Other Fossil selections
It is the green of the family: light fossil shells over olive green speckling. Fossil coral is a semi-precious stone, with light coral over an ocher gold background; Fossil Black goes over black, with gray cone-shaped fossils.

Questions about Fossil Green marble
How is it different from Fossil Black marble?
Both carry fossils: the background is what changes. Fossil Black is black, full of elongated cone-shaped fossils in light gray. This Fossil Green sits on a speckled olive green, with shell silhouettes in light beige. On the Fossil Black Marble page you can see its slab and compare the two patterns.
How does it behave in the kitchen?
In the kitchen, marble scratches more easily than granite and acids leave a dull mark on the polish, so a countertop collects marks over the years. It works if you accept the patina as part of the stone. If you want a surface that shows nothing, there are more forgiving stones, and we compare them on the kitchen page.
What care does Fossil Green need?
Cleaning stays at water with neutral soap. To know if your slab needs sealer, place a drop of water on an offcut: if it darkens and is slow to disappear, apply a coat before installing it. Sealer does not make the stone waterproof; what it does is slow absorption.
Are the photos of real slabs?
Yes. Both shots on this page are of a real Fossil Green slab: the full view and the close-up detail. Your slab will carry its own spread of fossils, different from the photo. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
How does it reach my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
