What Nero Assoluto Granite Looks Like
One color fills this slab: a deep black, with no veins and no pattern. No streaks stand off the background, so contrast is low. Across the slab that black stays uniform, with no lighter zones. The photo shows Nero Assoluto polished, with a mirror gloss.

Nero Assoluto Granite Finishes
On a black with no pattern, the finish defines the gloss, the reflection and the feel of the surface.
-
Polished
The one on the slab in the photo, with a mirror gloss; on a black like this it shows fingerprints and water drops.
-
Honed
Takes the mirror out of the polish: the black goes matte and the surface feels soft.
-
Leathered
A subtle relief that hides fingerprints and water marks on the black.
-
Flamed
Rough and coarse: wet, it slips less, which is why it goes on terraces and pool coping.

Questions About Nero Assoluto Granite
Does Nero Assoluto work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes: as a granite, it handles heat, scratches and kitchen acids better than marble. Its weak point is aesthetic: fingerprints and water drops show on the polished black. If that bothers you, order it with a leathered finish, which hides them.
Does Nero Assoluto need a sealer?
It helps. Being black, this granite usually takes in less liquid than a light one. Even so, stains resist better with a sealer. If a drop of water darkens the stone beneath it, that is the sign to seal; to clean Nero Assoluto, a damp cloth with neutral soap is enough.
How is it different from other black granites?
Each one brings something different to its photo. Copacabana granite carries a wavy cream band on the diagonal, and Matrix granite carries elongated golden streaks on the diagonal. In its own photo, Titanium Black granite is an almost smooth black with a very fine grain. The Nero Assoluto photo shows no pattern at all.
Is Zimbabwe granite the same stone as Nero Assoluto?
Yes. Classic Nero Assoluto comes from Zimbabwe and is also sold as Negro Zimbabwe or Negro Absoluto. Absolute Black from India is a different quarry, very similar to the eye: if your project calls for one in particular, we confirm it with photos of the available slabs.
How does Nero Assoluto reach my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
