What Dolce Vita quartzite looks like
A creamy white background crossed by fine gray and beige veins that wave horizontally. They are many, thin and tightly packed. Against the cream they leave a medium contrast. In the slab of the photo that pattern stays uniform, and the surface reads polished and glossy.

Dolce Vita quartzite finishes
The finish changes the reflection and texture of Dolce Vita; the hardness of the quartzite does not change with it.
-
Polished
The mirror shine the photo shows, for countertops and walls; it gets slippery on a wet floor.
-
Honed
Matte and without shine: the one for floors and showers, where a polished surface would be slippery.
-
Leathered
Leaves the surface with some relief and takes the mirror off the slab.

Questions about Dolce Vita quartzite
Is Dolce Vita quartzite the same as quartz?
No. Dolce Vita is natural stone: a quartzite, formed when heat and pressure transformed a quartz-rich sandstone. What is sold as countertop quartz is engineered quartz, a manufactured composite.
What is the difference between Dolce Vita and Taj Mahal?
Taj Mahal shows a light beige in its photo, crossed diagonally by soft caramel veins. Dolce Vita, in its own, is creamy white with many fine gray and beige veins waving horizontally. One background leans beige and the other white; the veins run diagonal or horizontal.
Does Dolce Vita quartzite need sealer?
You can tell with an offcut and a drop of water: if the stone darkens, Dolce Vita is worth sealing. Porosity varies from one quartzite to another. On a creamy white background like the one in the photo, an oil or coffee stain shows more.
Is the photo a real slab?
Yes: it is a real Dolce Vita slab, photographed whole and in a close shot. Every slab is different. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
