Calacatta Vagli marble

Marble · Italy

A web of fine gray veins runs across the white background of Calacatta Vagli marble, present without weighing anything down. Bathrooms and walls are where it looks best, because you take in the full web at once.

What Calacatta Vagli marble looks like

Fine medium gray veins cross the whole slab and form an irregular web. The background is white and the contrast is medium: the web reads clearly without covering the white. The pattern is spread at medium density: it covers the surface without loading it, as the photo shows. The pattern of this slab changes moderately from one area to another. Each slab carries its own web: yours is chosen from photos of the slabs available.

If your project joins several slabs, ask to see them together before you decide: each web is different, and it pays to think about which area takes which one.

Calacatta Vagli marble finishes

The finish changes the sheen of the surface and how the gray web reads against the white background.

  • Polished

The classic marble shine: the white reflects light and the gray web looks crisp.

  • Honed

Matte: in showers and on wet floors it slips less than polished.

  • Antiqued

Matte, with an aged air: it fits where patina is part of the plan.

Questions about Calacatta Vagli marble

How does it differ from Calacatta Classic?

Both are fine-veined whites. On the Classic, light gray veins run diagonally across the whole slab. On the Vagli, the medium gray web crosses in an irregular way, with no single direction in charge. Seen side by side, the Classic sets a course and the Vagli spreads the veining in every direction.

Can Calacatta Vagli marble take a kitchen countertop?

It can, on one condition: any kitchen acid, from lemon to wine, leaves a dull mark on the polish. That mark is a chemical reaction, not a stain. Over the years the countertop takes on a patina; if you like that lived-in look, this marble fits. If you prefer a surface that stays untouched, the marble or granite guide helps you choose another stone.

What cleaning does Calacatta Vagli need?

Day to day, pH-neutral soap and water are enough. The white background shows up every stain, so acidic liquids get wiped up right away. To decide on sealer, do the water drop test: if the stone absorbs it, it is time to seal. And if use leaves marks over the years, the marble can be restored with a fresh polish.

Will the slab I receive look like the one in the photos?

Not exactly: every slab carries its own web. The photos here come from a real Calacatta Vagli slab: the full slab and its close-up. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

Can Calacatta Vagli be shipped to my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
