Arabescato Vagli marble

Marble · Italy

A fine web of light gray veins around white fragments, at low contrast: that is the pattern of Arabescato Vagli marble. Where it performs best is in bathrooms and on walls; also on indoor floors and tables.

What Arabescato Vagli marble looks like

Over a grayish white background, a web of fine, medium-density light gray veins surrounds white fragments. In the photo the surface looks matte, without the mirror of a polish. In the center of the slab there is an area grayer than the rest. Variation within the slab is moderate; even so, ask for photos of the available slabs before choosing, because none repeats.

In a shower or on a bathroom floor, order it honed or brushed: polished is slippery when wet.

Arabescato Vagli, polished or matte

The photo shows the matte surface; the finish does not change the pattern, it changes the reflection.

  • Polished

Brings back the mirror: the white gains light and the gray web stands out more. It is the one that shows an acid mark first.

  • Honed

Matte, no reflections: the gray web reads soft and the surface slips less when wet.

  • Brushed

Fine stripes to the touch and low gloss; another route for bathroom floors and showers.

  • Antiqued

Removes all gloss and gives a softened look; outdoors it is the way to go, never polished.

Other Arabescato selections

Among the Arabescato, this one carries the most discreet web: fine light gray veins and low contrast. The Corchia closes up into a very dense dark web, the Apuano crosses thick veins on the diagonal and the Oro tints its web golden brown. All Arabescato selections

Questions about Arabescato Vagli marble

How do you tell it apart from Arabescato Corchia?

Both stones share the web pattern over white. In Arabescato Corchia the web is very dense and dark and encloses many small white fragments. In the Vagli it is more discreet: light gray, fine veins, with a grayer central zone.

Does Arabescato Vagli work for a kitchen countertop?

It works, with one condition: marble keeps a record of whatever lands on it. On a countertop, a splash of lemon or wine leaves a dull patch on the polish. It is not dirt: it is a chemical reaction, and cleaning does not bring the gloss back to that spot. Over the years the piece takes on a patina that some clients look for and others avoid.

What care does Arabescato Vagli need?

Clean with neutral soap and water. Dry any acidic liquid right away. Apply sealer depending on how much the stone absorbs: you check with the water drop test. To bring the gloss back to heavily used areas, marble can be polished again.

Is the photo on the page a real slab?

Yes: the slab in the photos is real, with its light gray web and the grayer central zone. Every slab of this marble is different, so yours will not be identical to the one in the image. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.

Can I order Arabescato Vagli from another country?
