What Napoleon Black Marble Looks Like
An irregular network of white veins opens over the deep black background. The veins run from fine to medium and their density is medium: the white travels across the slab without covering the black. The contrast between the two colors is high: the photo comes with the glossy polish and keeps the veins crisp. Within this slab the network changes moderately.

Finishes of Napoleon Black marble
On a black with this contrast, the finish decides how much the surface shines and how much it slips.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: the shine gives the black depth and keeps the vein network crisp.
-
Honed
It takes the shine off the polish; it stays matte, comfortable for showers and floors.
-
Brushed
Fine lines to the touch, less of a mirror than polished; another option for wet areas.

Questions about Napoleon Black marble
What sets it apart from Grigio Carnico marble?
The Carnico is a grayish black with fine, crisp white veins that branch. Napoleon Black has a blacker background and builds an irregular network of fine and medium veins. Both are veined blacks: the choice comes down to the background tone and the pattern.
Does Napoleon Black hold up to daily use on a kitchen countertop?
It holds up if you accept patina: where lemon, wine or tomato lands, the shine turns dull and the mark stays. With sealer and quick clean-up of anything that spills, daily life goes fine. If you want a countertop with no marks at all, this is not your stone.
What care does this marble need?
For daily cleaning, water with neutral soap; no acidic cleaners. A drop of water on the slab tells you whether to seal: if the stone absorbs it, apply sealer before use. If the surface collects wear marks over the years, it can be polished again to recover the shine.
Is the slab photo real?
Yes: these are real photos of Napoleon Black, the full slab and the close-up detail. Each slab carries its own network of veins, different from the one in the photo. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
