What Copacabana granite looks like
The wavy cream band flows on the diagonal across the black and leaves cream patches at the edges. Beige tones go with it. The light band over the dark background gives high contrast, under the polish shine of the photo. From one zone to another of this slab, the pattern changes sharply.

Copacabana granite finishes
Each finish leaves the same pattern with a different shine and a different response to fingerprints and water drops.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: mirror shine over the cream band; fingerprints and water drops stay in view.
-
Honed
Matte and soft to the touch: it turns off the mirror and is less slippery than polish where there is water.
-
Leathered
Texture you can feel and a dimmed shine: leather hides the fingerprints and drops that polished black leaves in view.
-
Flamed
The surface is left rough: it slips less under wet traffic, which is why it goes on terraces and pool coping.

Questions about Copacabana granite
How is Copacabana granite different from Cosmic Black?
In its photo, Cosmic Black granite carries wavy white streaks running horizontally. Copacabana concentrates the pattern in one cream band that crosses on the diagonal, with cream patches at the edges. Both are black granites: you choose by the direction of the pattern.
Does Copacabana granite work for the kitchen countertop?
Yes: among natural stones, granite is one of the most forgiving in a kitchen. A hot pot, a knife and lemon or tomato do far less to it than to marble. A damp cloth with pH-neutral soap handles daily cleaning.
Does Copacabana granite need sealer?
It does, though its black background starts ahead: light granites are the ones that usually absorb most. Sealer keeps stain resistance high, especially in the kitchen. Clean it with pH-neutral soap: concentrated bleach dulls the sealer.
Is the slab photo real?
Real: this is a Copacabana granite slab, in one full shot and one close up. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
