Arabescato Apuano marble

Marble · Italy

Thick dark gray branches run parallel and cross the white diagonally. With that high contrast, Arabescato Apuano marble, brought from Italy, stands out in bathrooms and on walls; in the kitchen it works only if you accept the marks of use.

What Arabescato Apuano marble looks like

Thick, branching dark gray strokes cross the white background on the diagonal and keep a parallel course with each other. The contrast is high and it reads at a glance, with nothing in between. A light gray completes the palette and softens the pattern. The surface is polished and reflects light. Variation within the slab is strong, so each cut shows a different part of the pattern.

Before cutting, ask for a photo of each piece: the thick branches of this stone are laid out differently in every cut, and it helps to see how they will sit together.

Arabescato Apuano and its finishes

The photo shows the stone polished; the other finishes soften the shine and change the feel where there is water.

  • Polished

The finish in the photo: it brings out the shine of the white and leaves the dark gray branches clearly marked.

  • Honed

It takes away the mirror of the polish; the surface gains grip in showers, vanities and floors.

  • Brushed

Fine brush stripes with a firm feel; useful on stairs and in traffic areas.

  • Antiqued

A worked surface made to look aged: broken shine and a rustic air, for walls and details.

Questions about Arabescato Apuano marble

What Sets Arabescato Apuano Apart from Corchia?

By the stroke. In Arabescato Corchia the veins are fine and very close together, so much so that they enclose many small white fragments. This stone draws fewer, thicker lines: dark gray branches that run in parallel, on the diagonal.

Does Arabescato Apuano Hold Up as a Kitchen Countertop?

With conditions. Kitchen acids, like lemon or tomato, leave an opaque mark on the polish that does not clean off. It is not a stain: the marble reacts with the acid and loses its shine at that spot. It works if you like a countertop that takes marks over the years; if you want a surface that stays intact, look at other stones on the kitchen page.

How Do You Clean and Seal Arabescato Apuano?

Day to day, clean it with water, neutral soap and a soft cloth. Wipe up acidic liquids right away so the reaction does not spread. A drop of water on a cutoff tells you whether that slab needs sealer before installation. And if an area loses its shine with use, the marble can be restored with a fresh polish.

Is the slab in the photo real?

Yes. It shows an Arabescato Apuano slab with its dark gray branches over the white. Every slab is different, so yours will carry a different layout of the pattern. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

How does Arabescato Apuano marble reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
