We ship marble to any country
You choose your slabs from photos or video, and we handle the packing, the transport and the documents to your delivery point.
Countries we ship marble to
We ship to all of Latin America. In Panama, where we are based, we also measure and install. If your project is outside the region, we get there too: tell us the city and the country.
How imported marble is shipped
From the producer's yard to your project, in four stages we walk you through.
1You approve your slabsPhotos and video of every slab. The one you approve is the one that ships.
2Wooden packingCrates and A-frames of treated wood, with each slab separated and secured.
3Ocean freightContainer loading and the ship tracked to your port. If your city has no port, the stone continues by land.
4Customs and deliveryYour customs broker receives the documents and the stone heads to your project.
Import documents that travel with the stone
Your customs broker receives all the paperwork to clear the stone. The quote tells you which documents your country requires.
- Proof of originCertificate or declaration of origin, to claim the preferential duty when your country has a trade agreement.
- CE or DoP documentationIncluded when it applies to the product and is available.
- Commercial invoiceThe value of the shipment, declared by your customs broker.
- Packing listEach crate with its slabs, dimensions and weights.
- Bill of ladingThe ship's document you use to collect your container.
- Photos of your slabsThe ones you approved, to compare when you open the crates.
Duties and taxes when importing marble
They change from one country to another, but the calculation always follows the same order. What you pay depends on three things we review with you before quoting.
- Stone value + freightThe commercial invoice and, in many countries, the freight too
- Tax baseThe value your customs office uses
- Duty and taxesA percentage of the base, depending on your country and the origin
- How the stone travelsRaw slabs and pieces already cut or polished have different customs codes. Sometimes they also pay different duties.
- Where it ships fromSeveral Latin American countries have trade agreements with the European Union that can lower the duty on Italian stone with the right proof of origin.
- The declared valueTaxes are calculated on the value of the shipment and, in many countries, on the freight too.
Your customs broker confirms the exact figure to you. We send them all the paperwork.
Marble shipping times
The total lead time is the sum of four legs. The quote gives you the estimated shipping date and the date of arrival at your port.
- SlabsWhether they are ready at the producer or have to be cut from the block
- PackingCrates and container loading
- TransitThe ship to your port, depending on the route
- Customs and deliveryClearance in your country and transport to the job site
The width of each stage is illustrative, not a real count of days.
Questions about shipping
Do you also need installation? When the project calls for it, we coordinate it. See how we work.
Which countries do you ship to?
All of Latin America. Mexico and Central America: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Caribbean: Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. South America: Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil. In Panama, where we are based, we also measure and install. Can I see my slabs before shipping?
Yes. We send you photos and video of every slab before it ships. The one you approve is the one that arrives.
Who pays import duties?
You pay them as the importer, under your country's rules. We send your customs broker all the documents for customs clearance.
How is shipping quoted?
The quote breaks out the material, the transport and the delivery point, so you can see what you pay at each stage.
Is the cargo insured?
The quote states whether cargo insurance is included, what it covers and under what conditions.
How long does shipping take?
It depends on whether slabs are ready at the producer, on transit to your port or your city, and on customs in your country. The quote gives you the estimated shipping date and the arrival date.
