What Giallo Reale marble looks like
The background is an intense ochre yellow, crossed by dense horizontal banding of medium contrast: fine, wavy bands in ochre and orange tones. Within the slab the variation is moderate: there is a light beige area at the lower right. The surface texture does not show in the photo; the banding rules.

Giallo Reale marble finishes
The finish rules over a background this vivid: it decides how much light the ochre gives off and what mark daily life leaves.
-
Polished
The one with the most light: the bands show sharply, but a forgotten drop of lemon leaves its dull patch right there.
-
Honed
No gloss, so the surface grips better; in showers and on the bathroom floor it is the practical finish.
-
Brushed
Fine scratching to the touch and no gloss: it works on high-traffic floors, where a plain polish wears away.
-
Antiqued
A matte finish, rough to the touch: the yellow background loses its reflection and the bands soften.

Questions about Giallo Reale marble
Is Giallo Reale the same stone as Amarillo Real?
Yes. Giallo Reale is the trade name of this stone; Amarillo Real is the one we use on the page. Both appear on the spec sheet, so you can order it by either.
What makes Douglas marble different?
Both work in ochres with banding. On Douglas, the parallel ochre and cream bands run in a diagonal and the whole reads like sandstone. On Giallo Reale the bands are fine, wavy and horizontal, with orange among the ochres.
Can Giallo Reale handle kitchen work?
The kitchen is where marble asks for a compromise. Lemon juice, wine or tomato sauce leave a dull patch on the polish that washing does not remove: it is a chemical reaction, not a stain. If that patina of use suits you, a Giallo Reale countertop works; if you want a surface that keeps no trace, the marble or granite guide compares stones that forgive more.
Are these really photos of a real slab?
The two images on this page show a real slab: the full view and the close-up detail. Every slab carries its own pattern, so yours may arrive with the bands distributed differently. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
How is shipping Giallo Reale arranged?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
