Azul Bahia granite

Granite · Brazil

A dense-grained cobalt blue with white areas and a dark blue diagonal band: that is what the photo of the Azul Bahia slab shows. As a granite, it stands up to daily work in the kitchen and outdoors. We ship it to any country.

The cobalt blue of Azul Bahia Granite

A dense-grained cobalt blue covers the background of this slab: the pattern is granular, the way granite is. White areas cut through the blue, and a dark blue diagonal band runs across the pattern, along with greenish-black patches. The contrast is medium: the blue still dominates, but the light areas read well. Within the slab the pattern changes moderately; between slabs, every piece is different and is chosen from photos of the ones available. The blue grain in the photo shows under a bright polish.

The blue in four finishes

This granite takes four finishes; in the photo you see it polished. Each one changes the sheen and the feel.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: a smooth surface and full sheen over the blue grain.

  • Honed

Honed: leaves the blue without reflections and the surface smooth to the touch.

  • Leathered

Low sheen and a raised texture you can feel.

  • Flamed

Rough underfoot and less slippery: pool edges and outdoors call for it.

Questions about Azul Bahia Granite

Does Azul Bahia work for a kitchen countertop?

Yes. The hot pot, the knife that scratches and the lemon that lands on the countertop are hits this stone takes, and a softer marble would mark. Against stains it has the sealer behind it.

How does it differ from Blue Sodalite granite?

Both are deep blue granites; the difference is in what keeps the color company. In its photo, Blue Sodalite granite alternates blue with irregular yellowish beige patches; in the Azul Bahia photo, the grain stays blue between white areas and a dark blue diagonal band. Before you choose, compare photos of the slabs of both stones.

What care does Azul Bahia granite need?

Everyday cleaning takes water and neutral soap. The sealer helps against stains: with it, stain resistance stays high. To see whether it is due, drop a few drops of water on the blue: if the stone darkens, it is time to reseal. Concentrated bleach stays out of Azul Bahia cleaning, because it dulls the sealer.

Is the photo a real slab?

Real: the slab you see in the photo is Azul Bahia. No other slab repeats this grain layout, so the choice is made from photos. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.

How does Azul Bahia granite reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
