Grigio Aitos marble

Marble · Bulgaria

A medium gray with fine grain, an even speckle of light and dark dots and not a single vein: that is how Grigio Aitos looks in the photo. Bathrooms and walls are where this gray performs best; interior floors and tables also hold up.

It is also known as Grigio Aitos.

What Grigio Aitos is like

Not a single vein crosses the surface: the whole pattern is a speckle of fine dots, light and dark, over a medium gray background. The dots are evenly spread, so the grain looks fine and the whole reads even. The contrast stays low: the dots do not jump out, they blend into the background. The texture is matte, without the gloss of a polish; that is how it looks in the photo. The grain covers the entire slab with the same spread of dots.

Grigio Aitos Marble finishes

Four finishes for this gray: each changes how much the surface reflects and how it feels to the touch.

  • Polished

The glossiest finish: over the medium gray it gives a clean reflection, meant for walls, bathrooms and tables.

  • Honed

It removes the gloss and leaves the surface matte; it grips better when wet, so it goes in showers and floors.

  • Brushed

It leaves fine brushed marks and a sheen halfway in between; useful on high-traffic floors, where polished wears out sooner.

  • Antiqued

Matte with the air of an aged stone; it works well on interior stairs.

Questions about Grigio Aitos

Is Grigio Aitos the same stone as Gris Aitos?

Yes, it is the same stone under two names: Gris Aitos is another way of writing Grigio Aitos. The name changes nothing about the stone.

How does Grigio Aitos differ from Pietra Serena?

In their photos, both are medium grays without veins. The difference is in the pattern: Pietra Serena looks smooth and even, while the Grigio Aitos slab spreads fine light and dark dots across the whole background. With the two slabs side by side, the Aitos speckle stands out at once.

How does Grigio Aitos hold up in a kitchen?

It depends on which marks you are willing to live with: marble keeps gaining patina with use, and a splash of lemon, wine or tomato leaves a dull halo that cleaning will not remove. It is not a stain: calcite reacts to acid and that spot does not regain its gloss on its own. With the sealer kept up and liquids wiped dry right away, the countertop works for anyone who accepts that patina. If you prefer a more forgiving stone, the Marble or granite guide compares the two families.

Do the photos show a real Grigio Aitos slab?

Yes, both images come from a true Grigio Aitos slab: one shows it whole and the other zooms into the speckle. Like every marble, each slab comes out different: yours may carry a slightly different spread of dots. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
