Questions about Bloody Mary marble
Why is it called Bloody Mary if it is green?
Because it is a trade name: it labels the stone without describing its color. The slab is green and gray, with no red: wavy bands of sage green and lime over a blue-gray background. If you were looking for a red stone, this is not it; look at the slab photo before you decide.
Does it work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes, as long as you accept the patina of daily use as part of the deal. Lemon, wine or vinegar leave a dull mark on the polish, and the sealer reduces absorption without making the stone waterproof. If you want a surface that never keeps a mark, compare them in marble or granite.
What care does it need?
Neutral soap and water for daily cleaning; if anything acidic spills (wine, lemon or tomato), dry it right away. The water drop test tells you when to seal: if the slab absorbs the drop fast, apply sealer. If use dulls the shine, a new polish brings it back.
How is it different from Sequoia Green marble?
Both work with wavy green bands, but the direction changes: Sequoia Green flows diagonally, in light green, white and gray. Bloody Mary runs horizontally over a blue-gray background, and its bands end in jagged edges.
