The slab in the photo has a polished finish, with high shine. Variation within the slab is low: the bands stay straight and parallel across the whole slab. Questions about Striato Olimpico marble
How does it differ from White Wood marble?
In the way the lines run. In its photo, White Wood marble has fine lines that imitate wood grain. The slab in the Striato Olimpico photo carries dense bands of dark gray and white.
How does Striato Olimpico marble behave in a kitchen?
It holds up to everyday heat; acids are a different matter. When lemon, vinegar or wine spills, the polish dulls right at that spot: it is a chemical reaction, not a stain. It works in the kitchen if you accept that use will leave marks over the years: that is called patina. If you want no marks, compare it with granite on the kitchen page.
Does this stone need sealing?
It depends on the slab: put a drop of water on the surface. If the spot darkens, the stone is absorbing and sealing is worthwhile. The sealer reduces what it absorbs, without making it waterproof. For cleaning, water with neutral soap is enough; wipe acidic liquids dry right away.
Is the photo a real slab?
Yes. They are two shots of a genuine Striato Olimpico slab, the whole slab and a close-up. The slab in your order will carry its own pattern. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
How does Striato Olimpico marble reach my country?
