Vulcano onyx

Onyx · Iran and Pakistan

Fire in the name, grays in the slab: the Vulcano onyx in the photo shows a bluish gray background with wavy light patches that fall in vertical lines. Its place is indoors, on walls, lightly used vanities and decorative tables.

What Vulcano onyx looks like

A bluish gray background with light patches in grayish white and light gray fills the Vulcano slab in the photo. The pattern is cloudy, made of dense, wavy patches that flow vertically with medium contrast. Within the slab it changes little. In the photo it looks polished and glossy.

For a large Vulcano onyx wall, bookmatched slabs are chosen: the gray patches mirror each other.

Vulcano onyx finishes

The photo shows the polish on the bluish gray. Honing changes the sheen and backlighting adds a light source behind the slab.

  • Polished

The one in this photo: high gloss over the cloudy pattern.

  • Honed

Removes the polish reflection and leaves a fine matte; the wall reflects less of the room's light.

  • Backlit

If the real Vulcano slab lets light through, an even, cool source behind lights up the gray patches.

Questions about Vulcano onyx

Is Vulcano onyx red?

No. Vulcano is a trade name and does not describe the tone: the slab in the photo is bluish gray, covered in wavy light patches that fall in vertical lines. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

What is the difference between Vulcano onyx and Velluto onyx?

Both are gray onyxes, but each arranges the pattern its own way: in its photo, Velluto builds horizontal gray, white and beige bands with wavy edges. In yours, Vulcano drops cloudy patches in vertical lines. Compare the two on Velluto onyx.

Can Vulcano onyx be installed with light behind it?

It can be, if the real slab lets light through: in the Vulcano photo that is possible, not certain. When the slab allows it, a source behind backlights the bluish gray. It has to be even and cool so the stone does not heat up.

How do you clean Vulcano onyx?

With a soft cloth and neutral soap, no acidic or abrasive cleaners: acids etch it like marble. Dry any water left on the surface so it does not leave a mark.

How does Vulcano onyx reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
