Bardiglio Imperiale marble

Marble · Italy

Even blue-gray, soft speckling and not a single vein: that is Bardiglio Imperiale marble, a marble with a calm pattern. It performs best in bathrooms and walls, where an even background brings order to a space.

It is also known as Bardiglio Imperiale.

What Bardiglio Imperiale Marble Looks Like

A blue-gray that stays the same from edge to edge: that is what this slab is about. Round spots of a slightly darker gray sit across the background. No vein crosses the surface. The contrast is low: from a distance it reads as an even medium gray, and up close the speckles appear. In the photo the texture is matte and the pattern does not change within the slab. Every slab is different: the one in your order is chosen from its photo.

If it is going in the shower, ask for the surface honed or brushed: wet polish is slippery. You will find more ideas in sinks and bathrooms.

Bardiglio Imperiale Marble Finishes

With a gray this even, what changes between finishes is the shine, the reflection and the feel.

  • Polished

The glossiest: it reflects light across the even gray. Slippery when wet, so avoid it in showers and bathroom floors.

  • Honed

Matte surface with a soft touch, no reflections. It is the finish for the wet areas of a bathroom.

  • Brushed

Fine lines that break the reflection of the shine; like honed, it works where the surface gets wet.

  • Antiqued

Matte with more character: softened texture and edges, a classic feel for floors and walls.

Questions about Bardiglio Imperiale Marble

Are Bardiglio Imperiale and Bardiglio Nuvolato the same stone?

No: they share a family, not the pattern. The Nuvolato carries a dark blue-gray with diffuse whitish clouds and veins crossing in diagonal. This Imperiale stays in the even blue-gray: no veins, only round spots slightly darker. You can compare the two on the Bardiglio Nuvolato page.

Does Bardiglio Imperiale marble work in the kitchen?

It works if you accept that the surface picks up marks over time. A kitchen acid, such as vinegar or lemon juice, leaves a dull mark on the polish. A knife edge also scratches it more easily than granite or quartzite. If a countertop has to stay flawless, this is not your stone; if you like the character use leaves behind, it works.

What care does this marble need?

Three habits are enough: clean with water and neutral soap, wipe up acidic liquids quickly, and seal based on how much the slab absorbs, checked with the water drop test. If the shine dulls over the years in high-traffic areas, the surface can be polished again.

Are the photos of a real slab?

Yes: what you see are two shots of a real Bardiglio Imperiale slab, the full view and the surface detail. Each slab distributes its round spots in its own way. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.

How does Bardiglio Imperiale marble get to my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
