What Calacatta Antique Marble Looks Like
A web of intense coral red holds angular white fragments of several sizes. The contrast is high: each fragment reads clean, surrounded by the dense matrix. The photo also shows hints of light gray. Within this slab the pattern changes noticeably from area to area. If your piece takes several cuts, choose from photos of each slab.

Calacatta Antique Finishes
The shine changes with the finish: from the polished mirror to matte surfaces with no reflection.
-
Polished
Mirror shine: the coral red looks more intense and the white reflects light.
-
Honed
Takes off the mirror: the red dulls a touch and a wet surface slips less.
-
Brushed
Fine striping you can feel when you run your hand over it; the other option for wet areas.
-
Antiqued
Matte with texture and a muted color: the coral red takes on an antique air.

Questions About Calacatta Antique Marble
Does it look like Rosso Lepanto?
Both join fragments with a web, but with the colors inverted. In Rosso Lepanto the fragments are intense red and the web is made of white veins; in Calacatta Antique the fragments are white and the matrix coral red. It is the comparison worth making if you want a red with a fragment pattern.
How does it hold up in the kitchen?
Well, with one condition: you have to accept that it changes with use. A splash of lemon or wine opens an opaque patch in the polish right away; over the years those marks form a patina. With sealer, the stone absorbs less. If you want a countertop that never changes, the marble or granite guide sums up the differences.
How do you care for Calacatta Antique?
Day to day, neutral soap and water do the job. Dry anything acidic right away: wine, lemon or tomato. The stone is porous: sealer reduces absorption, and the water drop test shows when to renew it.
Is the slab in the photos real?
Yes. It is a real Calacatta Antique slab: the full view and a close-up detail of the pattern. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
Where do you ship to?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
