What Smoky Quartz Looks Like
Angular quartz fragments in dark gray, almost black, cover the whole surface, separated by light edges and fine white lines. Touches of light gray and white appear between them. The pattern is crystalline: the stone reads in pieces, never as one continuous vein. The contrast between the dark fragments and their light edges is high; within the slab, the variation is moderate. An even gloss covers the fragments: the photo shows a polish.

Smoky Quartz Finishes: Gloss or Light Behind
Polished is the finish in the photo; backlighting depends on how much light the real slab lets through.

Questions about Smoky Quartz
What is Smokey Quartz?
It is the same stone: Smokey Quartz is another name for smoky quartz. Whichever name you order it by, it is the same slab.
Is a smoky quartz slab a single stone?
No. The stone is natural, but the slab is assembled by hand: quartz fragments bonded with resin on a base. The slab is a mosaic of fragments; each panel carries its own pattern. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
Can smoky quartz be backlit?
It can: the smoky quartz in this panel may let some light through, something the real slab confirms. The fragments in the photo are dark gray, almost black. If it is backlit, the light source sits behind without heating the slab: direct heat does not suit the resin.
What care does a smoky quartz sink or table need?
A soft cloth and water are enough for the daily cleaning. Even for tough stains, solvents and abrasive powders are no use. Under a hot pot or cup, use trivets: direct heat is the resin's weak point.
How does smoky quartz reach my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
