What Dune quartzite looks like
A few fine dark gray veins come together in this slab to draw one large wavy curve over the bone white background. Light gray touches complete the palette, the contrast between curve and background sits in the middle, and the variation is moderate within the slab. The photo shows it polished and glossy.

Dune quartzite finishes
Polished is the finish in the photo; honed and leathered lower that shine and leave a different feel to the touch.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: the shine of polish over the bone white background.
-
Honed
Matte and soft to the touch; wet bone white slips less than when polished.
-
Leathered
Lowers the shine of polish and adds relief you can feel.

Questions about Dune quartzite
How does Dune quartzite differ from White Macaubas quartzite?
Both belong to the group of light quartzites; the resemblance goes no further. In its photo, White Macaubas quartzite runs bluish white with fine parallel dark lines, while the Dune slab in the photo concentrates the pattern into one large wavy curve on bone white.
How does Dune quartzite hold up in the kitchen?
Well: it scratches glass and a knife will not mark it. Against a marble of similar look, it resists acids and the heat of a pot far better. Since its stain resistance is medium, sealer helps on a countertop used every day.
Does Dune quartzite need sealer?
It depends on the stone. Every quartzite absorbs differently: some barely let water in and others want sealer. The drop of water confirms it on your slab: if the stone darkens where it fell, that slab wants sealer.
Is the slab photo a real Dune slab?
Yes. The full slab and the close-up are real photos of Dune. Dune is a trade name, so the true tone and pattern are checked in the photo. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
How is Dune quartzite shipped to other countries?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
