Arabescato Grigio Orobico marble

Marble · Italy

Wavy bands of dark gray and black run horizontally across the Arabescato Grigio Orobico slab you see in the photo. It is a marble for walls and bathrooms, where the waves read in full.

It is also known as Arabescato Gris Orobico and Arabescato Orobico Grey.

What Arabescato Grigio Orobico Marble Looks Like

A deep anthracite gray fills the photo, crossed by wavy horizontal bands of gray and black. A few fine white veins cut through those waves vertically, and some light gray lightens the palette. Contrast is high: the dark waves read clearly from a distance. The pattern varies quite a bit within the slab; to choose yours, ask for photos of the slabs available for your order. In the photo the polish gives back an intense shine over that dark gray.

On a dark marble, water drops leave marks as they dry: in showers and wet areas, order it honed and seal it according to how much it absorbs.

Arabescato Grigio Orobico Marble Finishes

In a gray this dark, the finish decides how much light the surface gives back and how visible dust and water marks are.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: the mirror multiplies light and separates the dark bands from the light gray.

  • Honed

Matte and soft to the touch: in showers and wet areas it slips less than polished.

  • Brushed

Fine, dull texture: daily traffic shows less than it does on a shine.

Questions About Arabescato Grigio Orobico Marble

Is Arabescato Orobico Grey the same stone?

Yes: Arabescato Orobico Grey and Arabescato Gris Orobico are other names for this marble; the language of the name changes, not the stone. What decides the purchase is the actual slab. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

How does Arabescato Orobico Rosso compare with this one?

The two share the horizontal waves; the color changes. In Arabescato Rosso the bands come in brick red and cream, with black patches in the upper part of the slab. This Grigio Orobico stays in grays and blacks, with fine white veins running vertically.

How does it behave in the kitchen?

With one condition: you accept that the surface keeps a record of use. Lemon, tomato or vinegar leave an opaque patch on the polish that no cleaning removes: it is a chemical reaction, not dirt. If that patina does not convince you, granite stands up better to acids.

What cleaning and sealing does it need?

Water and neutral soap are enough for cleaning; acidic cleaners are out. Wipe up acidic liquids right away: wine, tomato or lemon leave a mark if they sit long on the surface. A drop of water on the stone tells you when it is time to seal again: if it darkens quickly, the surface is absorbing and asks for sealer.

How does Arabescato Grigio Orobico reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
