What Star Galaxy granite looks like
Small gold and copper flecks that shine are spread over the black background of this slab. Within the slab the speckling changes little: that even spread of flecks makes it easier to match several slabs when a piece needs more than one. The black in the photo carries a high-gloss polish.

Star Galaxy granite finishes
On a black with gold sparkle, the finish decides the reflection: how much the surface shines and how many fingerprints stay in view.
-
Polished
Mirror gloss on the black, like in the slab photo; it is the finish that shows fingerprints and drops the most.
-
Leathered
A textured surface with no mirror gloss: everyday fingerprints blend away on the black.
-
Honed
Matte and soft: it removes the shine of polish on the black.
-
Flamed
Rough to the touch: it is used on outdoor floors and pool edges, because with water it slips less than polished.

Questions about Star Galaxy granite
Does Star Galaxy work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes, with room to spare: granite takes the heat of a pot, knife scratches and food acids like vinegar or lemon juice. On a countertop, the sparkling black handles daily use well. The only issue is cosmetic: fingerprints and water drops show on polished black.
Does Star Galaxy need a sealer?
It helps. As a dark granite it usually absorbs less than a light one, but with sealer Star Galaxy keeps its stain resistance high. The home test is to leave a drop of water on the stone: if the stone darkens underneath, it is time to seal. For cleaning, water and mild soap are enough.
How is it different from Cosmic Gold?
Both mix black and gold, but the patterns are nothing alike: in its photo, Cosmic Gold granite carries gold and bronze areas in horizontal waves; in its own, Star Galaxy spreads its flecks across the whole slab. Since every slab is different, compare them with photos of the available slabs.
Is the photo a real slab?
The slab in the photo is real: black with clearly visible gold and copper flecks. Still, every Star Galaxy slab is different. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
How does Star Galaxy reach my country?
