Cristallo Rosa quartzite

Quartzite · Brazil

Horizontal reddish orange veins and diagonal white strokes cross the salmon-pink background of the slab in the photo of Cristallo Rosa quartzite. It takes acids and heat far better than marble: the kitchen, the table and the bathroom are its territory.

What Cristallo Rosa quartzite looks like

Salmon pink fills the slab in the photo, crossed by horizontal reddish orange veins alongside diagonal white strokes. Contrast is high: the orange vein stands out sharply against the background and a bluish area in the lower part lightens the whole. Variation within the slab is marked: it makes sense to choose the pieces from photos of each cut. The finish in the photo is polished and the surface reflects the light.

Cristallo Rosa quartzite finishes

Polished, the pink shines; honed and leathered lower the shine and change how the surface feels.

  • Polished

It brings out a mirror shine on the salmon pink; it is the finish in the photo.

  • Honed

It removes the mirror shine and leaves the surface matte and soft; in wet areas it slips less than polished.

  • Leathered

A soft texture under your hand, with a muted shine; the pink feels different to the touch.

  • Backlit

Some slabs let light through and light up with a lamp behind them; ask to see it backlit before cutting.

Questions about Cristallo Rosa quartzite

How is it different from Rosa Sabrina marble?

In its photo, Rosa Sabrina marble spreads a dense network of fine white and reddish veins over a salmon orange. In the Cristallo Rosa photo, the orange veins run horizontal, the white strokes run diagonal, and a light blue area fills the bottom. The big difference is not only the pattern: marble is softer, and kitchen acids leave marks on it.

How does Cristallo Rosa quartzite behave in the kitchen?

Very well: a knife will not scratch it and it does scratch glass. Kitchen acids and the heat of a pot straight off the stove affect it far less than marble. Stains ask for more care: resistance is medium and sealer raises it. Cut on a cutting board: the knife edge is what needs looking after.

Does Cristallo Rosa quartzite need sealer?

Not every quartzite absorbs the same, so your slab gives the answer. If a drop of water makes the stone look darker in that spot, it is time to seal. For cleaning, a cloth with mild soap is enough.

Is the slab photo real?

Yes. Cristallo Rosa is shown with a photo of the whole slab and a close-up, both real. Each slab carries its own pattern. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
