Breccia Imperiale marble

Marble · Italy

Wine-red touches are scattered across the web of white veins that covers the dark green of the slab. That is Breccia Imperiale, a high-contrast marble that shows best in bathrooms and walls, where you see the whole pattern.

It is also known as Brecha Imperial.

What Breccia Imperiale Marble looks like

Thin straight white veins cross and form a web over the dark green background, with small wine-red touches scattered through it. The white glows against the green, and part of the background leans gray-green, a high contrast that the polished shine in the photo makes even sharper. Within the slab the pattern varies moderately, and no slab repeats another's web: yours is chosen from photos of the available slabs.

Breccia Imperiale Marble finishes

The photo shows the polished finish; the other finishes keep the same white web and the same green with less reflection and a different feel.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: a mirror shine that brings out the white of the veins against the dark green.

  • Honed

No reflection and a soft feel: the finish on which this stone slips least in showers and bathroom floors.

  • Brushed

It leaves fine stripes and a firm feel, with the pattern in view and no shine.

  • Antiqued

A dull sheen and an aged look, without the reflection in the photo.

Questions about Breccia Imperiale Marble

Are Breccia Imperiale and Brecha Imperial the same stone?

Yes. Brecha Imperial is the translation of the trade name, and both forms work to order this same stone. Under one name or the other, the safe move is to ask for photos of the available slabs before you close the order.

How do I tell Breccia Imperiale and Rainforest Green apart?

Rainforest Green is also a dark green with a web pattern, but its web is dense and leans yellow-green. Breccia Imperiale shows thin white veins and wine-red touches inside the web. One look at each slab photo and the difference is obvious.

Can I use Breccia Imperiale on a kitchen countertop?

You can use it on a countertop if you accept that it takes on patina: marble keeps the memory of use. On this green, a splash of lemon or vinegar leaves the polish dull right where it lands, and everyday cleaning will not remove the mark. Over the years those marks can be polished out and the surface regains its shine. If you want a countertop that does not record every lemon, granite holds up better against acids.

What care does it need in the bathroom?

The routine is simple: clean with water and a neutral soap, and dry acidic liquids right away. Being a dark stone, it shows dust and water marks more than a light one. A cloth after the shower helps keep them away. A well-applied sealer reduces how much this marble absorbs, though it does not make it waterproof.

How does Breccia Imperiale reach me if I live abroad?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
