Grafite marble

Marble · Italy

Very fine, sparse white veins cross diagonally over a dark background between brown and graphite: that is how Grafite Marble looks in the slab in the photo. With its discreet pattern, it shows well in bathrooms and interior walls.

What Grafite Marble Looks Like

A dark grayish brown, leaning toward graphite with hints of olive gray, forms the background of this slab. Only a few very fine white veins cross it diagonally, so the pattern stays discreet against the color. Contrast is medium, and the photo shows the sheen of the polish. Within this slab the pattern is even. No two slabs of this marble are alike: yours is chosen from photos of the available slabs.

On such a dark background, dust and water marks show more than on a light marble: wiping with a cloth after use keeps them from settling.

Grafite Marble Finishes

This slab comes in a high-gloss polish; honed and brushed tone down the shine and change the feel.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: intense shine and a smooth feel. When wet, it is slippery.

  • Honed

The shine softens into a smooth matte: the finish meant for showers and bathroom floors.

  • Brushed

Fine striations you can feel; when wet, less slippery than polished.

Questions about Grafite Marble

How is it different from Jolie Grey marble?

The difference is in the pattern: Jolie Grey runs light veins diagonally until they form diamonds, while the Grafite slab in the photo keeps to a few very fine white veins on a background between brown and graphite.

Does Grafite hold up as a kitchen countertop?

Yes, if you accept the patina of use. Everyday heat is fine, though a direct heat hit can mark the sealer or the polish. The weak point is acids: lemon or vinegar leave a dull mark in the polish, not a stain but a chemical reaction. If you prefer something else, compare harder stones for the kitchen.

What care does Grafite marble need?

Daily cleaning is water and mild soap; spills of acidic liquids get wiped up right away. For the sealer, place a drop of water on the stone: if it darkens where the drop landed, it is time to seal. If marks appear over the years, the marble can be polished again.

Is the photo a real slab?

Yes: both photos show real Grafite marble, the full slab and a close-up detail. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

How does Grafite reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
