What Marinace Black quartzite looks like
A black background full of gray, white and black pebbles, with pink touches, packed across the whole surface in the photo. The pattern is brecciated: rounded stones of many sizes sit together in the same dark mass. The high contrast cuts the light pebbles out against the background. In this slab the pebbles spread out evenly. The surface comes polished and glossy in the photo; light does not pass through the stone.

Marinace Black quartzite finishes
Three faces for the same black: glossy, matte or with relief under the hand.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: high shine over the black and the light pebbles.
-
Honed
Matte finish: the black loses its reflection and the surface slips less where there is water.
-
Leathered
Under the hand you feel a slight relief; the shine sits between polished and matte.

Questions about Marinace Black quartzite
How do you tell Marinace Black apart from other black quartzites?
Each carries its darkness its own way. In its photos, Black Vermont is an almost uniform anthracite gray, with no pattern to speak of; Negresco goes for a few fine white veins in diagonal; Black Tempest waves in gray with a line of large white patches, and Ocean Storm leaves black patches like brushstrokes over a cream background. Among these photos, only the Marinace Black shows the rounded pebbles.
Does Marinace Black quartzite work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes: it stands up to the pace of a kitchen worked every day. A knife leaves no mark on it, and kitchen heat or acids do far less to it than to marble. The point to watch is stains, with medium resistance.
Does Marinace Black quartzite need sealer?
It depends: porosity is not visible to the eye and changes from one quartzite to another. Water shows it: if the stone looks darker where a drop fell, that surface wants sealer. In the kitchen and the bathroom, where oils and cleaning products land, the drop tells you whether it is time to seal.
Is the photo a real slab?
Real: the photos show a Marinace Black slab, whole and with a close-up of the same stone. The pattern changes from one slab to the next; the photo shows you the stone, not the exact piece you will receive. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
How does Marinace Black quartzite reach my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
