Masai marble
Marble · Kenya
Light pinkish cream and a fine grain that draws not one vein: that is how Masai marble looks in the slab photo. That continuous background, with no vein break, performs above all in bathrooms and walls.

What Masai Marble looks like
A cream background with a pink tint fills the slab in the photo, covered by a fine, even grain. Instead of veins, the surface carries tiny specks over a granular pattern that stays matte. Background and specks are hard to tell apart, and the pattern barely changes across the slab. Nothing cuts that cream: not one vein, not one shift in tone.

Masai Marble finishes
The photo shows the slab matte, with no reflections. Polishing adds shine to the cream; honing and brushing change the feel.
-
Polished
Mirror shine on the cream; it turns slippery in wet areas, so think it over for bathroom floors.
-
Honed
A matte surface, smooth to the touch; it works well in showers and on bathroom floors.
-
Brushed
Fine stripes made by brushing: a firm texture that, like honed, works in showers and on bathroom floors.

Questions about Masai marble
How do I tell Masai marble apart from similar stones?
The tone. In their photos, Fior di Crema is a very even cream surface and New Marfil a very uniform light cream, both fine-grained with no veins. The Masai slab in the photo leans pinkish cream, with tiny specks. With stones this close, the photo of each slab decides.
How does Masai marble hold up on a kitchen countertop?
On a countertop it works under one condition: accepting that daily use leaves its trace on the surface. Lemon, vinegar or wine leave their dull mark on the finish: acid reacts with the calcite in the stone. With a light background, any spill shows at once, so wipe it up right away. For a piece without those marks, the direct alternative is granite, which handles acids better.
What care does Masai marble need?
Water, pH-neutral soap and a cloth are enough for daily cleaning; acidic cleaners are out. To find out if the stone needs sealer, wet one spot with water: if the spot darkens as it absorbs the water, time to seal. If a mark bothers you, a fresh polish removes it: marble can be restored.
Is the photo a real slab?
Yes: the image shows the real Masai slab, pinkish cream in the background and fine-grained with tiny specks. Every marble slab is unique. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
