Bianco Martel marble

Marble · Italy

A light gray background full of dark speckles and not one vein: Bianco Martel marble is not the white its name promises, but a speckled marble from Italy that performs in bathrooms, walls and indoor floors.

What Bianco Martel marble looks like

Despite the name, the slab in the photo is not white: Bianco Martel is a trade name, and what the photo shows is a smooth light gray, spattered with many small dark speckles spread over the whole surface. There are no veins crossing it: the pattern is an even speckle, with grayish beige and dark gray touches. The contrast stays low and within the slab the speckling stays uniform. Up close you can see the pores, as in the detail photo.

Bianco Martel Marble finishes

On a speckled gray with no veins, the finish decides how much the background shines and how much the dots stand out.

  • Polished

High gloss: the light gray background reflects the light of the room.

  • Honed

Matte and smooth to the touch: it removes reflections and is the finish for showers and wet areas.

  • Brushed

Light texture and low gloss; it adds extra grip to an indoor floor.

  • Antiqued

A softened, mirror-free surface with a worn feel over the speckled gray.

Questions about Bianco Martel Marble

Why is Bianco Martel gray when the name says bianco?

Because Bianco Martel is a trade name: the slab in the photo is a light gray marble with dark speckles and no veins. If you were looking for a white, confirm the tone before you decide. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.

Does Bianco Martel marble work for a kitchen countertop?

Yes, if you accept seeing the marks of use: this smooth, light gray background shows them right away. Lemon or wine leave a dull mark on marble that does not come off with scrubbing, because it is a chemical reaction, not a stain. For a countertop that has to stay flawless, granite handles acids better: the Marble or granite? guide compares the two stones.

How do you care for Bianco Martel marble?

Clean it with water and neutral soap; dry any splash of wine or lemon right away. The stone absorbs: a sealer reduces how much gets in, without making it waterproof. Drop a little water on the slab and you will see if it is time to seal again. The patina daily use leaves has a remedy: restoration brings back the polish.

How does it differ from Pierre Bleu marble?

Pierre Bleu reverses the pattern: bluish black stone spattered with light flecks. Bianco Martel does the opposite, a light gray background with small dark dots. Lemon Ice is closer to it: light gray with dark flecks and a granite-like look. Before you decide, compare the photos of the slabs available for each.

How does Bianco Martel marble reach my country?

We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
