Ebano marble
Marble · Italy
Light specks that glimmer over an even gray-brown: that is how the Ebano marble slab in the photo looks, with a grainy pattern and no strong veining. Despite the name, the slab is not black; it works best in bathrooms and on walls.

What Ebano Marble looks like
Gray-brown dominates this slab: an even, grainy background where medium gray and white appear without forming strong veins. Over that background there are small light specks that glimmer and soft clouds. The photo shows the whole with low contrast: within one slab, the pattern stays uniform.

Where to use Ebano Marble
- BathroomsFull bathrooms: showers, sinks and walls
- WallsLarge walls: a quiet pattern that competes with nothing
- Interior floorsInterior floors; the shine wears in traffic areas
- TablesDining tables for everyday use
- KitchenIt works if you accept a patina over the years
- OutdoorsBetter indoors: outside, the polish does not last
- ScratchesLow
- StainsMedium, with sealer
- AcidsLow
In a shower or on a bathroom floor, wet polished stone is slippery: there, a honed or brushed matte finish is the better choice.
Ebano Marble finishes
On a slab with no strong veining, the finish mostly changes the shine and the feel: choose by the piece and the use.
-
Polished
Mirror shine: a surface smooth to the touch, with the deepest reflection of the finishes.
-
Honed
It tones down the shine without leaving the surface rough: it stays smooth to the touch, with no reflection.
-
Brushed
Run under brushes: fine striations, a firm feel and a low shine.

Questions about Ebano Marble
Is Ebano Marble black?
No. Ebano is a trade name: the slab in the photo is an even gray-brown with light specks, not the black the name suggests. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
What is the difference between Ebano and Grigio Aitos?
Both are grays with no strong veining. Grigio Aitos is a medium gray with fine grain and an even speckle; in the photo, Ebano leans brown and its light specks glimmer. The shades are close: the right move is to see both slabs side by side before deciding.
Does Ebano Marble work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes, as long as you accept the change: an Ebano countertop collects wear marks over the years, and that wear is called patina. Kitchen acids (lemon, vinegar, wine) leave a dull spot on the polish: it is not dirt and scrubbing will not take it off. If your kitchen sees a lot of lemons and wine, that job calls for granite; the marble or granite guide compares the two.
Does Ebano Marble need a sealer?
Ebano is porous, so a sealer helps: it reduces how much the stone absorbs, though it never makes it waterproof. A drop on the slab tells you: if the stone darkens under the drop, seal that piece before it goes into service. For everyday cleaning, water with a neutral soap is enough; if lemon, wine or vinegar spills, wipe it up quickly.
How is Ebano Marble shipped?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
