Titanium Black granite

Granite · Brazil

With a grain so fine it almost disappears, Titanium Black granite looks like a deep, uniform black in the photo, with no veins and a matte surface. It is a granite from Brazil that stands up to daily wear in the kitchen, on the floor and outdoors.

What Titanium Black Granite looks like

A black so even that the surface looks smooth at first sight. The grain is so fine it only shows up close, with low-contrast dots in black and very dark grey; there are no veins. The photo shows a matte surface, with no shine.

Finishes for Titanium Black Granite

In a black with so little pattern, the finish is what you notice most: it changes the shine and decides whether fingerprints show.

  • Polished

Mirror shine on the black; on a dark granite it shows fingerprints and water drops.

  • Honed

A muted shine and a soft feel, without the mirror effect of a polished finish.

  • Leathered

A fine texture under the hand; it makes fingerprints and water drops less visible than on polished.

  • Flamed

It leaves the surface rough and less slippery when wet; it is the one for outdoors and pool coping.

Questions about Titanium Black Granite

How do I tell Titanium Black apart from other black granites?

By the grain. In its photo, Nero Africa granite shows a uniform fine-grained black with a light grey speckle; Star Galaxy granite adds golden dots that sparkle; Stargate granite leans towards anthracite grey with grey and violet crystals. Agata Black granite stands apart at a glance: its wavy silver-grey bands run parallel and in a diagonal. In its photo, Titanium Black comes out almost flat, and the grain only shows up close.

How does Titanium Black perform in the kitchen?

Very well: granite forgives almost everything in a kitchen. It takes the heat of pots, scratches and the acids in lemon or tomato. As a countertop, the surface works every day and wipes clean with a cloth. The black stays even from one area of the slab to the next. Polished, a black like this shows every fingerprint; a leathered finish hides them.

Does Titanium Black Granite need sealer?

It does. A black background absorbs less than a light granite, but sealer is still part of caring for this stone. With sealer, it stands up well to everyday stains. You can read the state of the sealer with a home test: a few drops of water on an offcut; if the stone under them darkens, that piece asks for sealer. Water and mild soap are enough to clean it; products with concentrated bleach are what dull the sealer.

Is the slab in the photo real?

Yes: the slab in the photo exists and is real Titanium Black. Every slab carries its own pattern. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
