White Copacabana quartzite

Quartzite · Brazil

Wavy white and black bands of varying thickness run horizontally across the White Copacabana quartzite slab in the photo. It is a quartzite from Brazil with the hardness that everyday kitchens and bathrooms ask for.

What White Copacabana Quartzite Looks Like

The trade name promises white, and there is white: on this slab creamy white alternates with black in horizontal bands. Gray completes the palette in a banded pattern of wavy bands of varying thickness. The light and dark bands separate with high contrast. Within the same slab the variation is marked: the rhythm of the bands does not repeat from one area to another.

If the countertop runs in several pieces, approve with photos which part of the pattern goes on each one: within the slab, the rhythm of the bands changes in a marked way.

White Copacabana Quartzite Finishes

The finish you choose decides how much each band reflects and how the surface feels to the touch.

  • Polished

The one in the photo: high gloss over the white and black bands.

  • Honed

A muted shine and a soft touch: the bands lose their reflection and the wet surface slips less.

  • Leathered

A texture you can feel under the hand and a low shine over the whole pattern.

Questions about White Copacabana Quartzite

Are White Copacabana and Copacabana granite the same stone?

No. The name repeats, the stone does not: Copacabana granite is a granite and this White Copacabana is a quartzite. The pattern also runs differently: in its photo, that granite is black with a wavy cream band crossing on the diagonal, while the White Copacabana slab alternates horizontal white and black bands. Both are hard stones and take daily use; the pattern decides the choice.

Can I use White Copacabana quartzite on the kitchen countertop?

Yes. A hot pot or a splash of lemon or vinegar, which a marble suffers, does far less to this quartzite: its hardness works in your favor in the kitchen. To see it next to other kitchen stones, see natural stone for kitchens.

How do I know it is a true quartzite?

Hardness gives the first clue: a true quartzite scratches glass and a knife edge leaves no mark on it. The second test runs on acids: a drop of lemon on an offcut shows whether the piece carries some calcite or dolomite and reacts. With both tests you see what slab you have in front of you.

Does White Copacabana quartzite need sealer?

Every quartzite absorbs differently and the answer sits in your slab: some pieces barely take in water and others ask for sealer. The water drop settles it: if the spot of stone where it landed darkens, that piece asks for sealer. Mild soap is enough to wash it.

How does White Copacabana quartzite reach my country?

On request: we send you photos so you can choose your slab. Once you have chosen it, we ship it to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
