What Grigio Antracite marble looks like
On this slab the background is a taupe gray with a grayish-brown cast. The pattern does not come from long veins: these are small flecks lighter than the background, and a fine white vein shows up alone, with no companion. That spread holds uniform within the slab, and the low contrast leaves a calm surface, with no stroke that rules over the rest. The finish in the photo is a glossy polish.

Questions about Grigio Antracite marble
Is Grigio Antracite marble anthracite in color?
No. Antracite is a trade name: the real tone is that of the slab in the photo, a taupe gray with a grayish-brown cast, speckled with light flecks and with the shine of the polish. You will also see it written as Grigio Antracite; the name does not change the stone. If the tone is what you are after, decide from photos of the real slabs.
How is it different from Lemon Ice marble?
Lemon Ice is a light gray spattered with dark flecks, with a look that recalls granite. The Grigio Antracite slab in the photo stays in taupe gray: its flecks are lighter than the background and the overall contrast is low. The difference is in the tone of the background and the color of the flecks: light on taupe gray versus dark on light gray.
Does it work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes, if you accept from the start that the surface will take on a patina: over the years, the marks of use stay visible. Lemon juice, a drop of wine or tomato leave a matte halo on the polish that does not come off with cleaning, because it is a chemical reaction, not a stain. If that works for you, order the countertop with sealer matched to how much the stone absorbs, and wipe up acidic liquids right away; granite is the one that handles acids best, as the Marble or granite? guide explains.
Is the slab in the photo real?
Yes. Both images come from one authentic Grigio Antracite marble slab: the whole piece with its shine, and a close-up of the speckling. The one you will receive is chosen from the available slabs and carries its own spread of flecks, because two slabs of the same marble are never identical. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
How does Grigio Antracite marble get to my country?
