Marble · Belgium
A plain, even black, without a single vein, fills the whole slab of Nero Belgio marble. That calm works in bathrooms and on walls: the color competes with nothing.

What Nero Belgio marble looks like
Nothing breaks the color on this slab: a deep black with a bluish tint runs plain and uniform, with no veins or marks. With no second color drawing over the background, the contrast is low and the tone does not change within the slab. The photo shows it with a glossy polish.

Where to use Nero Belgio marble?
- BathroomsVanities, showers and walls; on wet floors, honed
- WallsFull walls with no veins to match; the black reads continuous
- Interior floorsIndoors; in the busiest areas, the polish loses its shine
- TablesDining room: sealer depending on how much it absorbs, and coasters for wine
- KitchenOnly if you accept the patina: acids mark the polish
- OutdoorsRain and sun dull the polish: better indoors
- ScratchesLow
- StainsMedium, with sealer
- AcidsLow
On such a dark, even background, dust and water marks show soon: a dry cloth after each use keeps them in check.
Finishes of Nero Belgio marble
With no veins to hold the eye, the surface rules here: the finish defines the shine and the grip.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: high shine and a sharp reflection over the plain background; to the touch there is no relief at all.
-
Honed
It tones down the shine: the black stays matte and gains grip, the comfortable finish for showers and floors.
-
Brushed
Very low shine and a rough feel; another option for wet areas, alongside honed.

Questions about Nero Belgio marble
What sets Nero Belgio apart from other black marbles?
In the photos, it is the plain one of the group. The Fossil Black spreads elongated light gray fossils across the whole background, the Portoro builds a dense network of golden and white veins, the Grand Antique concentrates broken white fragments in one area of the slab, and the Grigio Imperiale runs in horizontal gray and white waves. If you want a black with no pattern, start with the photos of its slabs.
Does Nero Belgio work for a kitchen countertop?
Yes, as long as you accept the patina of use. Lemon, wine and tomato dull the shine right where they land; that dull mark stays: it is marble chemistry, not a stain. If those traces do not convince you, granite stands up better to acids.
What care does Nero Belgio need?
Water and neutral soap are enough for everyday cleaning; acidic cleaners are out. If an acid spill lands, drying it right away prevents the dull mark. And to decide whether it is time to seal, the drop test: if the stone absorbs the water and the spot darkens, apply sealer.
Is Negro Belgio a different stone?
No: Nero and Negro name the same stone; it is one trade name, not two materials. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
