What Sea Quartz looks like
Irregular turquoise, blue and white fragments, packed tightly together, draw a dense mosaic over the turquoise background; the turquoises and the blues look crystalline. The contrast between the three colors is medium and the bright polish in the photo leaves the surface reflective. The assembly is handmade: the pattern changes moderately from one zone of the slab to another.

Questions about Sea Quartz
What is Sea Quartz?
It is a panel assembled by hand: resin joins fragments of natural quartz over a base. The stone is natural, but the slab is not one piece like onyx: the pattern is a mosaic of pieces, never a continuous vein. You will also find it as Sea Quartz, which is the same panel.
Can it be installed with a light behind it?
It can be. Quartz is backlit when the slab allows it: the crystalline fragments in this photo may let some light through, something you check on the real slab. If they do, the source goes behind and without direct heat.
Does it work for a kitchen countertop?
No: the resin suffers from direct heat and scratches sooner than stone, so a countertop next to the stove is not its place. In a kitchen it works for low-use decorative pieces, always away from heat. For a working countertop, the kitchen page lists better-suited stones.
How do you clean Sea Quartz?
The resin dictates the care: water and a soft cloth are enough for day to day; solvents and abrasive cleaners stay out. A trivet always goes under a hot pot or cup: direct heat is what the resin takes least.
