What Calacatta Supreme marble looks like
Wide beige and gray bands cross the slab diagonally over a light lavender gray background. Fine ocher lines run alongside the bands and give the pattern its warm accent. The contrast is medium: from a distance you read the diagonal striping, and up close the lavender gray and beige tones of each band come out. The bands vary moderately from one end of the slab to the other.

In a bathroom, order the floor honed and save the polished finish for the walls: polished stone is slippery when wet.
Calacatta Supreme finishes
The bands stay; the sheen can go up or down: polished adds reflection, and the other three finishes tone the surface down.
-
Polished
Mirror shine: it brightens the lavender of the background and gives the ocher lines a crisp edge.
-
Honed
Matte and soft to the touch: the surface for showers and bathroom floors, where a polished finish is slippery.
-
Brushed
Fine stripes and a firm feel: the pattern calms down and the surface gains texture.
-
Antiqued
The strongest matte: it softens the contrast between the bands and hides everyday wear.

Questions about Calacatta Supreme
How do you tell it apart from Calacatta Oro?
Calacatta Oro is white, with a single golden ocher vein on the diagonal and fine branches running alongside it. Calacatta Supreme spreads several beige and gray bands over a lavender gray background, with fine ocher lines. If you want white with one leading vein, look at Calacatta Oro; if continuous stripes are what you want, this is your stone.
Does it work on a kitchen countertop?
A countertop is possible if you accept patina: marble reacts to lemon, wine, or vinegar and leaves a dull mark on the polish. If you prefer a surface that stays unmarked, compare it with quartzite, hard and marble-like in look.
What care does Calacatta Supreme need?
Water with a pH-neutral soap for everyday cleaning, and acidic liquids get wiped dry right away, before they set their mark. The sealer reduces how much the stone absorbs: it is applied based on the water drop test. If a wear mark bothers you after a few years, the marble is re-polished and the surface comes back.
Are the photos of a real slab?
Yes: the full view and the close-up show the same Calacatta Supreme slab, with its beige and gray bands. Since each slab has a pattern that never repeats, that photo works as a reference and the final piece is chosen by viewing its slab. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
