Blue Luise quartzite

Quartzite · Brazil

A dense network of rust red veins crosses the violet blue background of the slab in the photo and lives alongside irregular cream areas. Blue Luise quartzite takes acid and heat far better than marble: it performs on countertops, tables and walls.

What Blue Luise Quartzite Looks Like

Violet blue crossed by a dense network of rust red veins: that is how the slab in the photo comes, polished and glossy. The network is joined by irregular cream areas and some green, in a brecciated pattern. The red stands out strongly against the blue background, and the spread changes a lot from one zone to another of this slab.

Blue Luise Quartzite Finishes

On a slab with this much veining, the finish shows above all in the gloss and the touch.

  • Polished

It is the finish in the photo: the gloss with which the slab reflects light. On a wet floor, it is slippery.

  • Honed

Matte and soft to the touch: it lowers the gloss of the polish and a wet floor is less slippery.

  • Leathered

It leaves a fine texture you can feel and lowers the gloss of the polish.

Questions about Blue Luise Quartzite

How do I tell Blue Luise apart from other blue quartzites?

Look at the background and the pattern. In its photo, Explosion Blue runs across the slab with tight diagonal waves of bluish gray and cream. In its own, Ijene Blue is slate blue with fine crossing ochre veins. The Blue Luise slab in the photo raises the contrast: violet blue with a dense network of rust red veins and irregular cream areas.

Does it work for a kitchen countertop?

Yes: in the kitchen, the countertop is where it performs best. It is a hard stone: a knife does not mark it, and lemon or wine treat it better than a marble. Cut on a board all the same: the knife's edge welcomes the pause. To compare countertop options, see the kitchen page.

Does Blue Luise quartzite need a sealer?

Porosity is not the same in every quartzite: the test gives the answer. Place a drop of water on an offcut: if the wet spot shows darker, it is time to seal. For cleaning, water with neutral soap.

Is the photo a real slab?

Real: the full slab and its close-up are real photos of Blue Luise. The vein network does not repeat: the slab in your order will bring its own. Before you buy, we send you photos of the slabs available for your order.
