How much does marble cost?
There is no universal price per m². Two slabs with the same name can differ in value because of their selection, format, finish, yield and destination.
What changes the price of marble
What matters is not a list price but the cost of the right stone, prepared for your project and placed where you need it.
- Variety and availability
- Slab selection
- Format and thickness
- Finish and edges
- Cuts and yield
- Destination and logistics
Why we don't publish a rate
- Natural stone changes from block to block
- A whole slab and a finished piece are not priced the same
- Waste depends on the drawings and the direction of the vein
- Transport changes with weight, route and delivery point
Marble price per square meter: which stones cost more
We don't publish rates, but we can tell you where each stone stands. These four things explain almost the whole difference between two quotes.
- Scarce stones: the high endCalacatta, Statuario, Portoro and backlit onyx come from a few quarries and few first-choice blocks. That is why they are among the most expensive stones per m².
- Affordable stonesCarrara, Botticino, Crema Marfil, Roman Travertine and many granites have more blocks and more slabs available, so they cost considerably less per m².
- ThicknessA 3 cm slab carries half again as much stone as a 2 cm slab: it costs more and weighs more in freight. For wall cladding, 2 cm is usually enough.
- Slab yieldA kitchen uses more slab than its square meters: the cuts, the direction of the veining and the sink cutout leave offcuts. That is why we quote from your drawings.
How to compare two quotes
A lower total does not mean the same thing if the selection, the thickness or the scope changes. Compare these line items separately.
- 01The stoneName, variety, the slabs chosen, documented country of origin and visual selection.
- 02PreparationFormat, thickness, finish, cuts, edges, holes and packing.
- 03DeliveryTransport, delivery point, available documents and the items that are left out.
CE/DoP documentation is considered only when it applies to the product and is available; it is not assumed for every stone.
How to get a marble quote, step by step
You don't need to have everything figured out. With a photo and the place where the stone will go, we can start.
- 1You send us the detailsThe stone or a photo, the use, the measurements or the drawings, and the city and country of delivery.
- 2We define the stone and the useIf one option is not right for the job, we propose another before quoting.
- 3You review the slabsPhotos or video of the available slabs, so the quote matches a specific selection.
- 4You receive the quoteMaterial, preparation, packing, transport, delivery point and what it does not include, in writing.
Questions about price
Still torn between two stones? Read the marble or granite guide.
How much does marble cost per square meter?
There is no single price per m². Variety, slab selection, thickness, finish, cuts and destination change the total. That is why we quote on the material and the real measurements of the project.
Does Italian marble always cost more?
Not necessarily. Country of origin is only one factor. Availability, selection, the block, the format, the processing and logistics can weigh more than origin alone.
Does the quote include shipping?
The proposal lists separately what it includes: material, preparation, packing, transport and the agreed delivery point. Taxes and import duties depend on the rules at the destination and are clarified before you confirm.
What do I need to request a quote?
Send the name or a photo of the stone, the measurements or the drawings, the use, the finish if you already know it, the quantity, and the city and country of delivery.
