What Picasso Brown marble looks like
Olive brown fills the slab's background and leaves the work to the pattern: rust-red strokes of medium weight that cross one another and form a net of medium density. Greenish gray completes the palette. Contrast is high: the net reads at once against the brown. The spread of the net varies moderately within the slab. The photo shows the glossy polish, which brings out the rust against the brown.

Picasso Brown marble finishes
On olive brown, the finish decides how much the rust net shines and how the surface feels.
-
Polished
The one in the photo: the reflection makes the rust red jump off the background and gives depth to the olive brown.
-
Honed
Takes away the reflection: the olive brown flattens, the rust calms down and the surface is less slippery when wet.
-
Brushed
Fine scratching to the touch, with no sheen; it keeps the pattern visible on floors where a polish would wear away.

Questions about Picasso Brown marble
How does it differ from Emperador Light?
Both carry netted veining over brown; the tone is what changes. Emperador Light is a light brown with fine cream veins. Picasso Brown drops to olive brown, and its rust-red veining, of medium weight, raises the contrast. With both photos in front of you, they are easy to tell apart.
Does Picasso Brown work on a kitchen countertop?
It works if the patina feels like part of the material: kitchen acids leave a dull patch on the polish that scrubbing will not remove. If that patina is not for you, the Marble or granite guide helps you decide.
What care does Picasso Brown need?
Daily cleaning is pH-neutral soap and water. Wipe up lemon, wine or tomato right away: their acid dulls the sheen where it lands. To know when to renew the sealer, place a drop of water on the stone; if the spot darkens, the stone is absorbing.
Can I trust what the photo shows?
Yes: what you see in the photo is a real Picasso Brown slab, with its glossy polish. Two marble slabs are never identical, so the one you receive will have its own version of the net. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
