What Lemurian Quartzite Looks Like
Isolated flashes of iridescent electric blue light up over a blue-black background crossed by elongated crystals in dark tones. The pattern is made of large crystals, not fine veins. The flashes contrast strongly with the black and, within this slab, the pattern changes moderately. The photo shows a high-gloss polished finish.

Lemurian Quartzite Finishes
In a stone this dark, the finish decides how much the surface shines.
-
Polished
High gloss on a smooth surface: the finish in the photo.
-
Honed
Takes the reflection out of the black: matte surface, smooth to the touch.
-
Leathered
Textured surface you can feel under your hand; the black loses reflection compared with polished.

Questions About Lemurian Quartzite
Does Lemurian quartzite look like Azul Macaubas quartzite?
They share the blue, not much else. In its photo, Azul Macaubas quartzite is a lavender blue background with a large cream band running diagonally and ocher touches; in the Lemurian photo, a blue-black of crystals with isolated flashes. One is light and banded; the other, dark and sparkled.
Does Lemurian quartzite hold up to everyday kitchen use?
Yes. A knife does not mark it, the surface scratches glass, and vinegar or a hot pot leaves far less of a trace than on marble. Each quartzite absorbs differently and the water drop gives it away: if the stone darkens underneath, ask for sealer on that surface. To compare it with other stones, see natural stone for kitchens.
How do I check that Lemurian is real quartzite?
An offcut from the slab settles it in two steps: the stone should not react to a drop of lemon and should scratch glass. If it reacts, it contains calcite or dolomite and that piece needs more care with acids.
Is the photo a real slab?
Real: they are photos of one Lemurian slab, whole and in a close-up of the surface. As with any natural stone, your slab will not look identical to the one in the photo. Before you buy, we send photos of the slabs available for your order.
Can I receive Lemurian quartzite in my country?
We ship to any country, with the stone's documents of origin and its CE certification. On the shipping page we explain how it reaches each region.
