What Rosso Levanto Marble Looks Like
Dark burgundy background and a brecciated pattern: fragments of the same red share the stone with gray-green areas, and a network of fine white veins runs between them all. That white over so dark a background is the high contrast you see in the photo, where the polish shines. Within this slab the brecciation changes moderately. The pattern does not repeat between pieces of one project: each comes from a different slab, chosen from photos.

If your piece joins several slabs, ask for the photo of each one: every slab lays out the burgundy fragments and the gray-green areas in its own way.
Rosso Levanto Marble finishes
In the photo the slab is polished; honed, brushed and antiqued lower the shine and change the feel.
-
Polished
Mirror shine and a surface smooth to the touch, as in the photo. Wet, it slips; in bathrooms and showers a matte finish is the right choice.
-
Honed
It leaves the surface matte and soft to the touch: the option for wet areas, from the shower to the bathroom floor.
-
Brushed
A fine scratching you can feel under the hand and one that barely reflects light: the other finish that suits bathroom floors and showers.
-
Antiqued
Pronounced texture and no shine: the surface recalls an aged marble.

Questions about Rosso Levanto Marble
Is Red Levanto another name for Rosso Levanto?
Yes. Red Levanto is another way of writing the name of this same stone, and you will find both on the market. When ordering, either one works: they speak of the same material.
How is it different from Rosso Lepanto?
Both work with fragments and a network of white veins. In its photo, Rosso Lepanto shows intense red fragments surrounded by a dense network of white veins; in the slab in the Rosso Levanto photo the fragments are burgundy and there are gray-green areas between fine veins. The decision is made by looking at photos of both slabs.
What happens if lemon or wine lands on Rosso Levanto?
Acid attacks the calcite and etches the polish: the mark is chemical, not dirt; it does not come off by scrubbing. With lemon, wine or tomato, the first defense is to dry it right away. Rosso Levanto works if you accept the patina; if not, granite stands up to acids better. The marble or granite guide looks at this difference in more detail.
How do you care for Rosso Levanto?
Neutral soap and water for everyday cleaning; acidic cleaners stay out because they etch the polish just like lemon or wine. The water-drop test shows how much the slab absorbs: if the stone under the drop darkens, it is worth sealing. Over the years, if the shine fades in walkways, a new polish brings the surface back.
